Garden Tip #1

Luke already has vegetables! We have harvested radishes, lettuce, spinach, broccoli, cauliflower, and are starting on the onions and potatoes. YUM!

I am going to call this Garden Tip #1. I am not sure if we will have any more advice, but if we do, I will post it on here. This tip is from J.W. Crawley. (my grandpa) See the onions below? It appears that they are sitting on the dirt.

Tip: After your onions come up, pull the dirt and weeds away from the base. This will help them grow. In the photo below, the onion on top did not have the dirt pulled away. The onion on the bottom did. If you look at the row on the right in the photo above, you will see that not all of our onions have had this done. You can tell a huge difference! My mom did most of the work. I did a little. The problem is, Luke planted too many onions!

Isn't She Lovely?

Kinnison's dance recital was Saturday. She was so nervous she threw up on the way. I was prepared. She had a shirt over her costume, blanket over her legs and I made her take a puke bucket. I knew what to expect and Luke saw it coming. He made sure she hit the puke bucket. After she threw up she felt better. Luckily, we were at Sonic when it happened, not driving down the road. We got her a sprite. By the time we got to Springdale she was feeling good. She did a great job. She looked so pretty. She looked so grown up. Gammy, Pappy, Aunt Charity, Ty, Emerson, Grandma, Grandma Robin, Doug, and Grandpa Jim came to watch. Thank you! And, thank you for the gifts. She got flowers, candy and balloons. What a great day! Luke and I are so proud of her!

New Invention.

Kinnison asked Luke to take her fishing. He said, "I guess." JK He is always ready to fish. But first, we had to deliver a lawn mower he sold. We were hearing banjos. It was out in Morrow somewhere. Rough country.

He was trying to get call the guy to make sure we were at the right place.

After we delivered the mower, we drove back roads to the farm. It was a beautiful drive. We didn't have any bait, so we stopped at the farm house and borrowed some baloney.

Mom- we used the last two pieces. (We will blame it on Kimber. She kept eating it!)

Kinnison is learning how to cast. She did a great job. She is a pro at reeling the fish in.

And, here is Luke's invention. He hooked Kinnison's kite to the fishing pole.

It was a great day!

Moviater!

Saturday night we took the girls to the drive in theater to watch "Up". Last year we went to Kids Movie Fest at Malco. Kinnison started calling the movie theater, moviater. It stuck. Now, we all call it that. It was a really cute movie. Luke fell asleep. Kinnison was ready for an all-nighter. She wanted to stay for Hannah Montana. Kimber was wild. We made a bed in the back of the suburban. She was dancing and yelling. We eventually wrestled her into her car seat. She sat in it for most of the movie. It was a fun family night at the moviater.

My New Toy

I got a new camera! WOO HOO! Luke surprised me Monday with a Nikon D5000! He did a great job. I love the camera. He got me a tripod, bag and filter as well. Those of you that know Luke, know he is the cheapest man alive. We can't buy dinner without using a coupon. He rarely buys me anything. When he does it is on sale. And, he never buys the accessories. I don't know what got into him! I always complain about not having the time to have a hobby. But, I am constantly taking photos of the girls. I have thousands. I love my camera! And, I love my husband for buying me the camera. Thanks Luke!

Tyree Family Reunion

For Memorial Day some family from my dad's side came in to visit. This was my first time to meet most of them. If I met them before, it was when I was too small to remember. My mom and dad put a lot of time, effort and money into making this weekend happen. So, Thanks! I am also thankful for my family who had to travel long distances to get to Prairie Grove, Arkansas.

More Fun!

We left the farm early this morning and came home to unpack. We had to run some errands in Fayetteville and Kinnison had dance rehearsal in Springdale. After rehearsal we went back to the farm to pack up the tent. We had to let it dry because of the heavy dew. Luke promised Kinnison he would take her fishing today. They told me they caught fish while I was at the farm house. But, they never caught one while I was watching. :)

This is only a start. His garden is huge. He does a great job. I hope I will get to help him in the garden more this year. Last year Kimber was colicky. I didn't leave the house or the car very often. Although her teething is giving me flashbacks, I think she will be better...I hope she will be better. I enjoy gardening...until it is 100 degrees. Then, I enjoy the air conditioning. We will be canning and freezing all summer. We want to double what we did last year. It will be a lot of work, but it is worth it. YUM!

Campout!

Luke went camping Friday night with his friend, Jason. He decided that we should take the girls camping Saturday night. "We need to go camping before it gets too hot," he said. Well, it certainly wasn't too hot. It was 47 degrees when we got up this morning. My nephew Ty went with us. The kids had a lot of fun. They actually slept really well. I did not sleep well. I wake up a couple times a night to go to the bathroom. There is nothing appealing about peeing outside, in the dark, when it is 47 degrees and windy out! We had a good time and I got some great photos!

Happy Mother's Day

I love being a mom. My girls are my life. I live each and every day for them. Sometimes it is difficult. Most of the time it is exhausting. Being a mom is worth all of the pain, worry and sleep deprivation. I love to see my girls smile. I love when they give me kisses. I love when they give me hugs. I love watching them grow and learn new things. My girls are my best friends. Being a mom is the most rewarding job in the world. And, sometimes it comes with perks! Luke got me a card, some wildflowers, and a gift certificate for a mani/pedi. YAY! I love spending time with my girls, but I will gladly accept some alone time! We went to eat at Outback today. We even had some sunshine today! Tomorrow we are going to church and then we are going to be lazy. What a wonderful Mother's Day weekend. I am so blessed! Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there! I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
